Teens' Hike Mid Layer Full-Zip
Built with the versatility younger explorers need, the Boys' and Girls' Hike Mid Layer Full-Zip is a soft fleece mid layer that can take them from campfire to classroom. Plus, built-in thumbholes add extra warmth around the hand and make putting on additional layers a breeze.
Regular Fit
Regular fit layers cleanly over a base layer and under a shell, with enough room for the school-to-trail wardrobe rotation without feeling bulky or restrictive.
Grid-Mesh Fleece
Grid-mesh fleece mid layer balances warmth and breathability — the grid construction traps heat while wicking moisture, so kids stay warm without overheating on the climb up.
Recycled Polyester Body
Body fabric made with 95% recycled polyester diverts plastic waste from landfill — a softer environmental footprint for the layer that sees the most use.
Stand Collar
Stand collar adds extra warmth around the neck on cold mornings, and zips up out of the way when the day warms up.
Center Front Zip with Chin Guard
Center front zip with a chin guard prevents the slider from pinching skin — a small touch that makes zipping up easier and more comfortable for younger kids.
Secure-Zip Chest Pocket
Secure-zip chest pocket keeps the small stuff — phone, transit card, snack money — from wandering off during a hike or a busy school day.
Open Hand Pockets
Open hand pockets warm cold fingers fast at the trailhead or the bus stop, and double as overflow storage for a hat, gloves, or a found treasure.
Elastic-Bound Cuffs with Thumbholes
Elastic-bound cuffs with built-in thumbholes seal in warmth around the wrists and make pulling on additional layers easier — sleeves stay put, no bunching under a shell.
Heat-Transfer Logos
Heat transfer logo on the left chest and back-right shoulder adds branded detail without the bulk or itch of a stitched patch — comfortable against the skin all day.

Materials
Body
216 g/m² 95% recycled polyester, 5% elastane knit
Washing
Machine wash cold with like colors on a gentle cycle. Zip the center front fully before washing to protect the chin guard and the slider teeth, and turn the layer inside-out to preserve the heat-transfer logos.
Detergent
Skip bleach, fabric softeners, and optical brighteners — they coat the recycled polyester fibers, reduce the grid-mesh fleece's wicking ability, and degrade the elastane stretch over time.
Drying
Tumble dry low or hang dry. High heat can pill the grid-mesh fleece and shrink the elastane blend. Remove promptly from the dryer and hang on a hanger to minimize wrinkles and keep the silhouette dialed in.
Pilling Prevention
Wash inside-out with other smooth-faced technical pieces to reduce abrasion on the fleece face. Avoid washing with Velcro®, rough denim, or backpacks with hook-and-loop, which pull at the grid surface and cause pilling over time.
Storage
Store folded or hung in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Hang by the shoulders or fold flat — avoid hanging by the elastic-bound cuffs, which can stretch out over time.
